About Us
TavLux — essentials, honestly engineered, for women in transition.
TavLux is a small studio founded by Sarah Smith, building the wardrobe women actually reach for on the days their body is changing faster than the high street can keep up with. Swimwear that stays opaque when you bend down. Leggings that don't dig. Shapewear that supports instead of punishing. Loungewear that respects a bump, a scar, and a fourth-trimester body.
We don't believe comfort, modesty, or confidence should be luxuries. We believe they're the baseline — and we've built every collection we make around that single idea.
A brand built out of quiet frustration.
TavLux began where most good brands begin — at the exact point where the market stops making sense. A drawer full of leggings that went sheer the moment you bent down. Shapewear that left red welts by lunchtime. Swimwear designed for photoshoots, not real afternoons. Loungewear that looked chic online and arrived reeking of chemicals no amount of vinegar could wash out.
Our founder, Sarah Smith, kept asking the same question every woman in her life was asking: Why is every piece designed to photograph well, and almost none of it designed to be lived in?
"I didn't want to start a clothing brand. I wanted to start the one I'd been looking for." — Sarah Smith
We obsess over the details women actually feel.
Sarah and our small studio team spend weeks on decisions most brands make in minutes — fabric weights, elastomeric tension, opacity thresholds, the biology of the fibres that sit against your skin. The details that separate a piece you wear once from a piece you reach for every day.
Every TavLux product has to pass the same internal test before it ships: does this honour the woman wearing it, on her hardest day, in her most honest lighting? If the answer is no, we keep working.
Named mills. Traceable fibres. No dropship shortcuts.
We work with mills we can name, using fibres we can trace — clean blends, natural-fibre-led fabrics, and weights chosen for real life rather than studio lighting. No mystery polyester. No chemical smell out of the box. No three-week shipping from an anonymous warehouse.
It's slower. It costs more. And it's the only way we're willing to put something against the skin of the women who trust us.
Three principles behind every TavLux piece.
Nothing Digs, Nothing Pinches
Whether it's a swimsuit, a legging, a shapewear brief or a lounge short, our waistbands and seams are engineered to distribute pressure, not concentrate it. No red welts, no rolling, no surgery with nail scissors.
Opacity Is Not Optional
We hold every piece to a real opacity standard — so pale colours don't betray you in sunlight, and stretch fabric doesn't thin out when your body moves. Bend, squat, swim, host visitors. Your dignity stays fully intact.
Clean From The Loom
Natural-fibre-led fabrics, rigorously tested for residue. Safe against your skin, safe against your baby's. We build pieces meant to be kept — not thrown out in six weeks.
A growing wardrobe of honest essentials.
Swimwear
Modest, sculpted, and properly opaque. Designed for real bodies, real light, and real afternoons at the pool.
Leggings
Core-control, flared, and sculpting styles engineered to stay opaque and comfortable from warm-up to school run.
Shapewear
Support that works with your body, not against it. No digging, no squeezing, no rolling down at the worst moment.
SoftState
Our maternity and postpartum line. Loungewear that actually fits a bump, a c-section shelf, and a fourth-trimester body with quiet dignity.
SoftState — the collection that started a deeper conversation.
One of the hardest transitions Sarah kept hearing about was motherhood — from women who felt erased by the maternity market and forced to choose between paper-thin fabric, chemical smells, and silhouettes that looked nothing like them. So we built SoftState: a maternity and postpartum line with zero-dig waistbands, 200 GSM opacity, and beech-tree modal against the skin.
It's one chapter of TavLux — not the whole book. The same standard now runs through everything we design, from swimwear to shapewear to the pieces still on the cutting table.
You're allowed to feel like yourself — right now.
"I built TavLux for every woman who has stood in her bedroom and quietly decided not to go, not to swim, not to answer the door, not to be seen — because her clothes weren't on her side. You don't have to wait until after the baby, after the bounce-back, after you've 'got yourself together.' Your body deserves to be dressed by people who actually took the time to understand it. That's the standard we hold ourselves to, every single piece."
